Just got done testing, managed to hit the target without adding any parts. My car ended up as an S class though because of my wheels.

Yeah I picked mid-tier wheels while tuning so I’m sure that’ll happen for a lot of people. Not like it makes a huge difference anyways.

Fastest I can get is a 2:23:205.

Even with BoP? I was at like 570some setting that time, hopefully it’s not too fast for everyone...

Yeah.. I was running around 2:18.7 at A600, so I’d need to cut quite a bit off of that, but I won’t be making it to this race anyway.

nah not too fast at all, I was doing about an hours of practice tonight, just finished and my final lap was a 2:19.7, not sure if that was a one off or if it can be repeated so I think I’m going to have to remove some parts :(

I’m a second faster with an untuned Maserati. Progress!

That’s about where I was at at A600, dropped to A570some using sport tire compound and narrower widths to set the 2:20.5. Might want to start practicing for next race anyways, driving on such slippery tires takes some time to get used to but it’s not completely unmanageable.

Maybe just test it out in a practice lobby, I was planning on starting one at like 6 our time tomorrow, will post here on Oppo once I do.

I was hoping to have a lobby open at like 6 today. Be on the lookout for a post on Oppo.

I’m not certain if I’m going to be able to make it for the first race this Saturday. My dad and I are going to be working on replacing the head gasket on the Honda, and there’s no telling how long that’ll take.

On the other hand,
perhaps
I could use the race as a break period...

Woot! My Cayman managed to dip into the 2:20’s on the base tune. I’ll probably throw something small, like an exhaust, into the mix to eat up the last half a second or so.
The RX-8 was over a full second slower and a lot twitchier. I think I’ll reserve it for the tighter courses. The Cayman is just so easy to drive- though I’ve still got some understeer to dial out.

Exhaust should do it. And that’s so weird you found the Cayman faster than the RX-8, I found the opposite during testing (Cayman liked to snap oversteer under braking). I’ve got an RX-8 saved up for Infineon and Laguna Seca so it should be interesting to see how they compare during an actual race.

Really? I found the RX-8 tended to snap oversteer...well, everywhere. The Cayman is honestly almost impossible for me to oversteer unless I really drive it like a goober. Then again, I’ve always been way better at driving rear mid-engined cars in Forza than anything else.
Also, upgrading the exhaust one steep bumped the PI up by 11 points. O.O
And yes, it did work for my time. After about 10 laps I was able to hit a 2:20.006 driving completely balls out at the limit.

You must be, I can’t take any turn in the Cayman off-throttle or under hard braking without spinning the damn thing. And 2:20 is alright, I’m not going to pretend like most people don’t build their cars slightly faster than the target time anyways.
Also I don’t know if you’ve ever closely inspected the advertisement at turn 6 but I’d imagine you’d find it quite amusing:
One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn’t belong.

Also, you never take a corner while coasting in an RME car. You’re either trail braking or easing on the throttle. Trail-brake up to the apex, then get on the gas in a linear increase. That way you’re always controlling the weight balance of the car. As for hard braking, I do all my hard braking in a straight line. I also have my brake balance set to 46% front with only 71% pressure. My front springs are substantially softer than my rear, my sway bars are only a lb different, with the front softer. Toe out is at -.2 front, .1 rear, with 5.7 caster. Camber is cranked to -1.1 front, 0.8 rear. Rebound damping is a little softer than stock, bump damping is quite a bit softer than stock, and both are tuned to be front-soft. Rear aero is stock, front aero is about 30% more than stock. Rear tire pressure is 28.5, front tire pressure is 30.
For some reason, I just
get
RME cars. Their handling just resonates with me better than any other configuration. And the tuning is always easy: squishy up front, firm in the rear.

94 Honda Civic CX, d15b7 engine.
It’ll probably take less time since my dad and I have an idea of what we’re doing now regarding head gasket stuff, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned working on cars,
NEVER
say “oh, it’ll only take X hours and we’ll be done”.

I won’t be there. Taking apart my parts car and swapping a bunch of parts. Ooh, and installing lots of polyurethane to stop the clunking when I shift, or hit the gas.

Weight reduction if you haven’t done it but otherwise just throw some power at it, that’s all you can do at this point.

Congrats on the new gig but :( for missing our races. For what it’s worth Rob said Friday could be an option too and the races might be later in the day (like at night once everyone gets home from work). Again, you’d have to talk to him personally to confirm anything.

Hate to lose you bud.
Not for nothing, but IMO, Lexus is one of the best brands out there.
You get the dates for the Sundays and let us know. July 19 is 1st race.
You will probably fit in a few of the races for the series. ;)

Yeah I originally picked Sebring to open the year because it’s the first race in several real-life series but now I do it just to get it out the way lol.
